Become a LifeLine Counsellor

We are always looking for new people to help us provide even more support to our many callers. If you are a friendly, genuine, caring and compassionate person who would like to give something back to your community, please consider joining our team of LifeLine counsellors.

Before joining our team, you will need to attend our Personal Growth course, followed by our Counselling Skills course. Once completed, interested applicants will undergo a selection process before being trained as a Telephone LifeLine Counsellor. Our courses run throughout the year at our head office in Mowbray, Cape Town and have both morning and evening courses.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions imposed on public gatherings, we are in the process of redesigning our Personal Growth and Counselling Skills courses so we can offer these unique experiences online. We will update our website regularly and will announce the dates of courses as soon as possible. We look forwarded to welcoming you soon!

Please follow our Facebook page, LifeLine Western Cape, to keep an eye on updated information.

If you are wanting to help out in other ways, we are needing donations to help keep our phone lines open by paying our administrative costs. Please click our Donate button to find out how!

As a non-profit organisation, we need your support to keep providing lifelines to those in need. All your donations go towards improving our services and expanding our efforts to reach and assist those who need it most. Please use one of the easy methods below to make a donation.

No matter how big or small your contribution, we thank you for your continuing support!

“The course is structured in such a way that a profound depth of safety and trust is created; this allowed me to open up and share in a way I would never have believed possible. Through this I gained insights into how and why I am who I am today. It was my first experience of believing I belonged.”

Debbie Ludik,
